I look up to see Hudson staring at me with a raised eyebrow, and I shrug. “Your Mom was worried about me. Bianca asked me not to kick your ass.”

“Dream on, Fucker.” Hudson shakes his head. “She already threatened me. I couldn’t cause any permanent damage.” He smirks, and I raise my middle finger in response before sending my girl a return text.

I just had lunch with the asshole. It’s all good.

I’m tempted to add, “I love you,” at the end of the text, but I refuse to say those words to Bianca the first time in a text.
